Make My Day.

Whether you're single, married, or somewhere in between, there's nothing quite like a pretty posy of flowers to brighten up your day.

With Valentine's Day just around the corner we contacted the lovely Kendall from Flower Child Posies, a one woman enterprise creating a perfectly sized bespoke posy daily delivered to your door.

Tell us about Flower Child Posies?

We like it beautiful & keep it simple so everyday we put together a little posy of the freshest flowers and hand deliver them for $29. We just wanted an affordable way to send a special message.

Flower Child was born as family budgets, talented friends & a supportive community collided. It was my choice to be a stay at home Mum, but being from the generation that wants everything now! I still wanted to enjoy a little financial freedom. My best friend owned a funky little florist in Adelaide and I loved what she had created from nothing. She’s my go-to on all things flowers and one of the greatest influences behind our simple style. On paper, Geelong was the perfect community to support a flower delivery service, in reality, it was better than perfect!

What is your brand’s ethos?

Flower Child was built on three core values, simplicity, quality and affordability. Every posy we create needs to have it’s own special personality and each posy has a responsibility to make someone feel loved. It’s so important to us that our product is stunning and our service is beautiful.

What are three tips for creating a romantic Valentine’s Day *hint, hint, fellas*?

It’s the little things that have the biggest impact I think.

Send a little posy of flowers with a really cool message. Some of the messages we receive to add to the posy tags make us really smile! If we think they are amazing, imagine how much joy the person the message is actually meant for gets.

Spend some time together eating and drinking outdoors. A backyard picnic or beer and pizza on the beach are a couple of my favourites. So many girls these days like things simple and fun, so a bit of thought and effort is all you need.

Never underestimate where an old fashioned kiss and cuddle could end up.

How can you prolong the life of a posy?

Our posies love a stem trim and some fresh water. By changing the water every couple of days and trimming a bit off the stems each time you do, it allows the water easy access up the stem and into the flower without any dried up bits blocking the way.

Where would you like to see Flower Child Posies in a year’s time?

I’m about to have my second Flower Child, so we have very much left FCx to enjoy the organic growth it has been experiencing over the past 12-18 months. In time, I’d love to expand our gift-giving service and incorporate more of the amazing handmade products created in and around Geelong. I am actually on the hunt for a hand cream to add to our shop if any of your followers has a recommendation, I’d love them to let me know.

I’ve been creating Love Fest Florals for almost 12 months now and will hopefully have our wedding page go live on our website next month. I have a very raw and rustic style when it comes to creating wedding flowers and we try to keep our approach simple. Over the next 12 months I’d love to properly launch this area of FCx.

We love Kendall's advice and think that it is definitely the smallest of gestures that make the biggest impact on any day of the year, not just Valentine's Day.
